This old house, which was originally built in 1935, is situated in a quiet area on the outskirts of cosmopolitan Melville. Guests are away from the hustle and bustle of Melville, but are still close enough to explore the abundance of small shops, cafes, curio shops, art galleries and trendy restaurants in the neighbourhood - a short drive of just over 1km. Four rooms are situated inside the main house and two self catering units are available for longer stays. You are welcome to have a cuppa or simply relax with a book from our small library. A sparkling blue pool set in a lovely garden is inviting you to drench up the warm African sun. The entire house is at all times yours to enjoy. At last you have arrived at your home away from home. Accommodation includes a full Farmhouse breakfast, which is served in the dining room or on the patio should weather permit. Breakfast can be served in the new suite, Golden Slumber, should you decide to lie in and have breakfast in you PJ's, or simply prefer privacy. Enjoy some of the other delicious breakfast options: * Eggs Benedict with Parma ham and spinach served on rye bread, * Savoury pancakes with mince, * Omlettes, * Scrambled eggs on rye bread with Salmon and cream cheese, * Flapjacks, * French toast, * Waffles with honey/syrup, * Toasted croissants with bacon and Parmesan cheese,etc.

From the Oliver Tambo international airport, take the R24 towards Johannesburg, then the N12, the M2 West and the M1 North. On the M1 North take the Empire Road turnoff. Turn left into Empire road. Carry on straight along Empire until you reach a T junction. The SABC’s offices will be in front of you. Turn right into Kingsway until you get to 4th robot. (Campus Square shopping centre will be on your right) Turn right into Main Street in Melville. Turn left at the second traffic light. (The Melville Vet will be on your left hand side of the road). Follow the road up the hill. (1st Avenue) On top of the hill the road becomes a one-way street, turn right in to 1st Street. Pass two stop streets, Arum Place Guesthouse will be on your left hand side.
