Gracious living on seven acres in Sandton. Charming and elegant cottages set in large tranquil gardens, each with fireplace, air-conditioning, fans, some with jacuzzis. Two can be self catering with superbly equipped kitchens. Each cottage has the ambience of an old Cape farmhouse, with Cape antiques, original art,satellite TV, private entrance,& verandah leading to garden fragrant with roses and herbs. Breakfast on the rose terrace or by the fireside. Gourmet dinners enhanced by candlelight on silver & crystal reflect the expertise of a French trained chef. 

Small conferences: our establishment is the perfect venue for your small conference or meeting - only 20 minutes from Sandton, but with a far-from-it-all atmosphere.

Cuisine

The highlight of any stay at de Kuilen Country House must be the four-course gourmet dinner.

The menu is changed frequently, but among our guest's favourites are our wonderful Souffle of Roquefort Cheese with pears, Medallions of Kingklip with
oriental vegetables, Cape Malay curry, and our superb range of fresh game and seafood dishes.

Accommodation

Birdsong Cottage consists of a luxurious bedroom and a separate dressing room which can take a cot.  It has an en suite bathroom with both bath and free standing shower, a very large lounge/dining room with fireplace leading on to the outdoor living area and a fully equipped kitchen.

The Birdsong Cottage can be made interleading with Pomegranate Cottage for families. Together, these two cottages can accommodate a family of five (5) - (2 adults and 2-3 small children).  Children of all ages are welcome.

Pomegranate Cottage

 Romantic favorite of honeymooners, Pomegranate is tucked away in a secluded corner of the beauteous gardens.  It is beautifully decorated with imported Persian rugs and original art. The en suite bathroom also has a free standing shower. 
The large airy bedroom leads into a conservatory - filled with fragrant exotic plants and orchids where you can relax and enjoy long lazy breakfasts under the southern skies in all weathers.

You can unwind and renew yourself in a pristine sunken Jacuzzi. And for more relaxation the outdoor terrace is also totally private with fountain, roses, herbs, tall trees, a hammock, many magazines and coffee table books. 

Pomegranate Cottage can be made interleading with Birdsong Cottage for families. The two cottages together can accommodate a family of  five - two adults and 3 small children
