The Tented Camp, situated only 40 minutes South of Sandton, is set in a tranquil bush environment. The Tents have been comfortably furnished. Forget preconceived ideas about tents! Our camp is ideal for individuals, companies or for those attending a dive course at Bass Lake (instead of driving to Bass Lake on a daily basis, whilst on a course you can book in at our camp). The setting provides the ideal break away from the city and is in a secure environment We also offer 3 function venues Residents have the exclusive use of a thatched Gazebo and private garden area at the waterfront at Bass lake. Total accommodation in tented camp: 32 beds | |  | Rates are quoted on a bed & breakfast basis and include VAT. We offer a generous full English breakfast. Lunches and early dinners are served at the waterfront Geckos Coffee Shop or you may visit one of the restaurants in the area. Please pre-arrange dinner at Geckos, if required. Picnic lunches can be packed for your outings of the day. | | On the day of departure residents may continue to use the facilities at Bass Lake for the remainder. Rates include: | Luxury Lodge Tents | | | | Special touches include complimentary teas, coffees, biscuits and toiletries. All lodge tents have a private bathroom and patio,are carpeted, have comfortable mattresses and luxury finishes. Note: Lodge sites can accommodate Bow Tents if a family wish to be placed on the same site. | Bow Tents | | | Complimentary teas and coffees are provided at the dining room for bow tents and other camp guests. Bow tents utilise the Central Ablution, which is of a high standard A- Frame Chalets A- Frame Chalets are a new addition , these are similar to lodge tents but have brick side walls and utilise the central ablution as per the bow tents. Furnishings and the central ablution are of a high standard and complimenatry toiletries are supplied. Teas, coffees and biscuits are set up in the chalet unit. All bathrooms have HOT water and flushing toilets. All linen and towels for the bathrooms are supplied. |   
AttractionsGeneral Overview The emphasis at Bass Lake Adventures is to provide an enjoyable and unique environment where people can enjoy their recreation time, where families and friends can enjoy the peaceful, secure environment with guests showing mutual respect to each other whilst always maintaining high safety standards. Both Day and overnight visitors are welcome. We cater to both Private and Corporate Guests. Catering Breakfasts, lunches (7 days per week) & dinners (Sat & Sun only) are available at Geckos, presently being upraded, situated at the waterfront on the lower level. We offer tasty, fresh, reasonably priced take-aways too! We also serve meals at our recreation club bar on the upper level. End your day off at our bar and catch your favourite games on DSTV or play a game of pool, snooker or darts! In addition for special functions we offer superb 3-course dinners at our bush camp restaurant "Makhulu Maghodi", situated overlooking Bass Lake on the western face, by pre-arrangement ~ minimum group size for this venue is 20. Bookings are essential. Dine by candle light and enjoy a truly special evening with us. Other venues for functions We have a waterfront marquee venue "The Lakeside" , which seats up to 120 people. This venue is set within metres of the water's edge with a tranquil private garden area. We offer all services, including catering for your special function. At our Recreation Club, on the upper level of Bass Lake, we have a large hall that can seat up to 180 people. Please call us for a quote. Bird Watching Bass Lake and the surrounding areas host a wide variety of bird life, thus making it the ideal place for ornithologists and photographers. Photography Bass Lake is situated amongst a most scenic and beautiful natural area and is ideal for the photographic enthusiast. Offering beautiful natural landscapes, a wide variety of bird life as well as plant life. One can also do underwater photography within Bass Lake. Recreation Club As a paid up day or overnight guest, you may use these facilities, which include tennis, squash, a swimming pool with thatches, a kiddies play area as well as a fully licenced bar serving pub meals. Annual Membership Take out an annual season ticket and enjoy all the facilities of Bass Lake, including the recreation club. As a season ticket holder you may swim (in the lake or pool), scuba dive, snorkel, mountain bike, kayak / canoe, picnic, camp, do cross country running or walk on the property, SEVEN days per week, during our opening hours. Costs are effectively from R71(*)/ single person / month or take advantage of our GREAT family deals, where for a family of four the cost will be from R39(*) / person / month. (Additional permit fees do apply to the 4x4 trail and Bass fly fishing in the lake. Thatches hired or gear hired attract additional fees). (*) Assumes up front lump sum payment. Credit cards accepted and a 6 montly payment term available.   
Facilities The Bass Lake RESORT surrounds a lake with a surface area of 10-hectares. This lake is spring-fed and the water is of drinking quality with both Large Mouthed Bass & Blue Kurper in it. Activities for Day Visitors Lower Level Picnicking, swimming, kayaking and braaing are all permitted at the Lower level , waterfront area. You may wish to hire a thatch gazebo/ kayak or snorkel gear - please refer Rates Page. If not hiring a thatch gazebo, for your own enjoyment, please bring your own, as there is limited shade. You may also take your mountain bike out on our trail. Enquire at our Outdoor Shop for Trail Map. No permit fees are applicable to mountain bikes. You may also hike this off- road trail (around 14 kms : remember to take your binoculars along, for birding) Upper Level Recreation Centre The facility has a Squash Court, Tennis Court, Children’s play area, a large Swimming pool in a fenced off area, a Lounge area and Pub ( with DSTV, Pool & Snooker). |
